A Man, A Woman, Some Ducks, and a workshop
Hey everyone, My Name is Ben, and this is my amazing wife Megan! Together we run the DuckHill Workshop, LLC. I make the things and she writes about the things I make, sometimes we make the things together.
DuckHill Workshop, LLC is a small, Minnesota based company that designs and builds functional furniture, and leather goods, rooted in tradition but looking to the future. The pieces we build are unique to each client, and of a quality that will allow them to be passed down through generations. We harvest, mill, and process almost all of our own lumber, and use exclusively vegetable tanned leathers, in an effort to be better stewards of our natural resources. We are creating not just for the needs of now, but also to the needs of the future, in the hopes that future generations will continue to find the fruits of our labors useful and aesthetically pleasing.
We also want the process of designing your custom project to be a collaborative one, where you can feel as much ownership of the design as we do, so that years down the road you can tell your friends and family all about how you didn’t just buy something at the big box store, you were actually apart of the creative process.
