Build IT: Live Edge Desk for my Mom - Part Five

Build IT: Live Edge Desk for my Mom - Part Five

We are back with Part Five of the Live Edge Desk Build for my Mom! This is all about doing the bookmatched veneer glue up, which was a challenge to say the least! And even though I need to fill a few more cracks that didn’t totally fill in with the first epoxy pours, I couldn’t resist putting some Tried and True Original Linseed oil and beeswax finish on, and popping them into their frames…. I am so excited.

Even though I didn’t show it, the other veneers have been milled and cut, they are ready for glue-up.

I still need to dowel and install the dust frames, pre-finish, and assemble the carcase of the cabinet.

Workshop Wednesday: Episode Eight

Worksop Wednesday: Episode 8

Welcome to Workshop Wednesdays, the time of the week for quick shop updates, what projects I’m working on, problems, tips, tricks, and questions. This is Episode Eight and it’s a quick update and check in! I've finally finished hand cutting and chiselling all the mortises, dado's, and tenon's on my Mom's desk... We added an iVac remote switch for the dust collector, which moves us one step closer to actually having dust management in the shop! The really big noticeable update to the shop is new garage doors! It feels so much brighter now!

Don’t forget to subscribe, and hit the bell so you get notified of all the new episodes coming out on Sunday and Wednesday mornings.
